Techniques applied to treatments:

Functional Mobilization

This dynamic approach learned through the Institute of Physical Art provides safe and effective treatment to immobile soft tissues and joints. The aim of functional mobilization is to return structures in the body to the fluid, functional state in which we are designed. Basic joint mobs and manipulations are often static and don't hold, but with this approach, patients are involved in the process of freeing their own restrictions and educated on ways to maintain gains made.

Pelvic Floor Therapy

The pelvis is such a foundational structure of the human body and often under-addressed in typical therapy settings. From coccyx (tailbone) dysfunctions that refer to low back pain to pelvic floor weakness that contributes to chronic ankle sprains, appropriate diagnosis and management of the pelvic floor serves as a foundation to support core functioning. Treatment techniques include individualized strength and endurance assessments, perineal massage and release, scar mobilization, nerve tracing, continence training, sex counseling and functional integration of the pelvic floor into daily function.

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation

This technique taps into the existing potential of every patient. Using manual patterning developed to promote core patterning with every movement, patients will experience how automatic engagement of their stabilizing muscles can help to bring them out of pain and toward goals they never thought possible. Experience how skilled manual treatment to facilitate efficient activation and inhibit pathological patterning will let your nerves and muscles re-establish healthy communication.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual techniques are geared at restoring mobility to organs that were once unrestrained by inflammation and scarring. Treatment approaches have benefited people with (but not limited to) the following conditions: irritable bowel syndrome, hypermobility (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome), infertility, incontinence, liver dysfunctions, dysmenorrhea, hiatal hernia, GERD and heartburn.

Using decongestive therapy techniques, cancer survivors can avoid secondary complications such as lymphedema and learn tools to return to their active lifestyles.  Self-management through education and training is essential to helping men and women loose the "sick" identity that constant oncological treatement seems to bring with it. Reclaim goals that you once had by being empowered to independently manage your body again.
